He graduated from Tokyo University (1910) and then finished postgraduate course (1915).
Toyotaro Suhara became assistant professor (1918). He was conferred a doctorate (1919) and promoted professor. Resigned from Tokyo University (1934). He as a professor at Ryojun (Lushun) Engineering University and then at Kyushu University (1938). Subsequently appointed chief of Kyushu University's Fluid Engineering Research Institute, retired under age limit (1946). He became professor at Кеі University (1947).
