Valentina Alexandrovna worked as assistant, associate professor, head of the department, professor of the department of faculty of pediatrics, dean of the faculty of pediatrics of the Voronezh State Medical University named after N.N. Since 1957 Platonova Valentina Alexandrovna is a founder of the pulmonary scientific school in the field of pediatrics. At the initiative of Platonova, the Children's Pulmonary Center (1960) and the Chertovitskoye Rehabilitation Therapy Center for children living in ecologically unfavorable areas were organized. Also with her help Associations of parents with children with bronchial asthma and cystic fibrosis (1972) were created.
Moreover, she is the author of about 400 works, including “Clinical and X-ray bronchopulmonary characteristics of bronchopulmonary diseases in children and the organization of their dispensary services” (Voronezh, 1972); "Malformations of the lungs in children" (Voronezh, 2006). She edited 5 collections of scientific works on pediatric pulmonology (Voronezh, 1972-1980).
