Anchipolovsky was born on 25th November 1928 in Bratslav, which is now in Vinnitsk region, Ukraine SSR (nowadays Ukraine).
Anchipolovsky lived in Moscow since he was 5. In 1951 he graduated from Faculty of Editorial and publishing of Moscow Polygraphic Institute.
In 1952-1958 Anchipolovsky was an editor of the Voronezh book publisher, and in 1958-1974 – an editor of the department of criticism and bibliography of the magazine Pod’yom. He was a Head of the professorial chair of Humanitarian and Socio-Economic Disciplines in Voronezh State Institute of Art, which in 1974 became Voronezh State Academy of Art. For many years, he directed a section of theater critics at the regional branch of the All-Russian Theatrical Community / Union of Theatrical personalities. His works became published since 1953.
Anchipolovsky was the author of more than 200 articles, as well as 9 books which were published in Voronezh. He was a diploma winner of the theatre contest “The event of the year” (Voronezh, 1998), “For the sake of honor and dignity in art” (2001), “The critic of the year”, etc.
In 2007-2008, chapters of the book about Voronezh Theatre for young audience, written by Anchipolovsky, were published in the newspaper Voronezhsky Kur’yer.
