In 1990 Valentina Sergeevna graduated from the Gnesins State Music and Pedagogical Institute (now The Gnessin State Musical College) (class L. Shamina).
In 1970-1975 Valentina Sergeevna was the vocalist of the ensemble "Voronezh Girls", the ensemble of Russian song and music of the Buryat (Ulan-Ude city) and the Novosibirsk Philharmonic Society (1975-1986), the Krasnodar ensemble conducted by the Savelyev brothers (since 1986).
Valentina Sergeevna is laureate of the 4th All-Union Contest of Variety Artists, International Folklore Festival in Yugoslavia, World Festivals of Youth and Students in Havana and Moscow. Since 1997, she is the author and presenter of the television program "Oh, Russian native song" of the state television and radio broadcasting company "Kuban". Since 1998, a consultant to the Regional Scientific and Methodological Center for Folk Art. Valentina Savelyeva is an associate professor of the department of Folk Singing of the Kuban University of Culture and Arts (since 2002).
