Background
Victor Rozov was born on August 8, 1913, in Jaroslavl, Russian Federation in the family of the accountant Sergey Fedorovich Rozov (subsequently the participant of World War I) and his wife Ekaterina Ilyinichna.

During the Eser rebellion in 1918 their house was burned down and the family fled to Vetluga. There Viktor Rozov graduated from the first three classes of the school. Since 1923 he lived and studied in Kostroma. In 1929 he was not admitted to the Timiryazev agricultural academy due to the lack of working experience, he began working at a textile factory in Kostroma. In the same year he became an аmateur actor in the Kostroma Young Spectator’s Theatre. In 1932 he entered the Kostroma industrial College. In 1934 he entered the school at the theatre of Revolution in Moscow (class of M. I. Babanova), after finishing it he was admitted to the troupe.
After the beginning of the war, in July 1941, Rozov joined the 8th division of the national militia of Krasnopresnensky district. In the autumn of the same year he was severely wounded. After discharging from the hospital in 1942, he headed the front-line propaganda team; at the same time studied at the correspondance Department of the Literary Institute.
After the end of the war he interrupted classes in Institute and organized the theater for children and boys in Alma-Ata.
After returning to Moscow, he worked in the theatre at the Central house of culture of railwaymen as an actor and a producer.
Since 1949 his plays have been staged in different theatres.
In 1953 Rozov graduated from the Literary Institute.
Anatoly Efros and Oleg Efremov found Rozov a great playwright (in the creative activity centers Anatoly Efros put "good luck!", "In search of joy", "on the wedding day" and "Before dinner"): in 1956, the play Rozova "Forever alive" opened the theater "Sovremennik", where later were put other plays Rozova: "in search of joy", "on the wedding day", "Traditional collection", "From evening to noon".
The first film adaptation of the play of Rozov was the film by Victor Eisymont " In good time!"(1956). Тhe film by Mikhail Kalatozov "the cranes are flying" — the film adaptation of the play "Eternally alive" was widely accepted.

1968Rozov was married to Nadezhda Kozlova Varfolomeeva (1919-2006). Their son Sergei (born 1953.) is a theater producer, and daughter Tatiana (1960) — an actress of the Moscow art theatre of Chekhov. Grandchildren: Anastasia (born 1982).), Ivan (1996).
