Quotations:
"My main field of scientific activity is the toxicology of plastics, a comparatively new and insufficiently investigated branch of applied toxicology. I began my work in this field at a time when there was a lack of both consensus and effective guidance on how to evaluate the safety of plastic materials. My books are intended to present both theoretical and practical aspects of this problem in modern toxicology, and to make an advancement in the regulatory toxicology of plastics, namely, to implement the modern approach instead of the application of out-of-date principles."
"For the past twenty years, 1 have developed a comprehensive database on the toxic properties of plastics. It was published in Russia in 1982, England in 1990, and the United States in 1995. It is an attempt to provide comprehensive information about the hazard of plastic ingredients migrating into food and water. I have also made a considerable contribution to the national drinking water regulations of Russia and Israel."
Victor O. Sheftel married Raisa Goisman in 1970. They had one child, Larisa Safran.
