Victor Yakovlevich started his creative activity in 1931 in Krasnodar. He worked in theaters of Sverdlovsk, Smolensk. In 1938-1947 he was an artist of the Voronezh Drama Theater. Victor Yakovlevich designed about 20 performances: "The guy from our city", "The Kremlin chimes", "Woe from Wit", "The Rift", "The Cherry Orchard", "Hamlet", "The Gardens Bloom", "The Conspiracy", "Field Marshal Kutuzov" "The Marriage of Figaro", "The Liar", "Mashenka", "Soldiers of Stalingrad" and many others. In the season of 1957-1958 he designed the performance "Ivan Budantsev" in Voronezh.
Since 1947, the main artist of the Gorky Drama Theater. Since 1963, simultaneously the director of this theater.
