Career

The books of Virginia Thompson Adloff written in collaboration with her husband Richard Adloff, profiled areas then undergoing communist uprisings. According to Library Journal reviewer, they "give factual, seemingly unbiased details" of the communist insurgence in Africa and Southeast Asia.

In addition to her writings, Virginia McLean Thompson taught at several institutions, including the Hoover Institution at Stanford University and the University of California, Berkeley.
