In 1964 - graduated from 10 classes of secondary school № 476 in Moscow. In 1970 he graduated from the Power Machine Engineering Department of the Moscow Higher Technical School (MVTU) named after NE Bauman in the specialty "Vacuum Technology of Electrophysical Installations", received the qualification "Mechanical Engineer". In 1995 - received a doctorate in technical sciences. In 1997 - received the title of professor.
From April 2, 1970 - worked as an engineer of the 502nd department of the Central Design Bureau of Chemical Engineering, and from August 1, 1973 - as an engineer-designer. He was engaged in the creation of a system of executive bodies for orientation engines for the LOC (lunar orbiter - 11F93), LK (lunar lander - 11F94) and Soyuz T (11F732). From March 1, 1975 - worked as a design engineer of the third category in the 52nd Division, engaged in refueling systems. From February 1, 1977 - worked as an engineer in the 110th department. From April 1, 1977 - transferred to the 111th department as an engineer, and since January 1, 1978 - senior engineer. Developed on-board documentation on TAC (combined propulsion system) and refueling system.
