He graduated from the Physics Faculty of Voronezh State University (1969). Since his student years he has been engaged in amateur art activities. He was the captain of the KVN team of the Voronezh State University (1966-1969), member of the agitation brigade of the Voronezh State University (1966-1979) and vocalist of the Theater of Song of Voronezh State University (1972-1976), he participated in the recording of 3 concerts on Central Television (Moscow, 1973-1975).
He has been a Junior researcher at the Department of Electronics, Voronezh State University (1969-1979), senior lecturer, head of the department, deputy head of the Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation (Voronezh, 1979-2002). Since 2002 he has been a professor of Voronezh Institute of Economics and Social Management (2002-2005) and Institute of Innovative Systems.
Besides his scientific carreer he has been interested in the sphere of art and participated in many events. He has been a Laureate of the All-Union competition-review of amateur art groups of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the USSR (1984). Since 1998, he has been taking an active part in many programs of the Voronezh House of the actor (the club "At candlelight", "Event of the season", benefit performances of actors, recitals). He has been a member and jury member of the bardic song festival "Ramon Spring" (2002-2007).
