He served at one time on the Prussian Ministry of Welfare, also had been editor of the Frankfort Zeitung.
Dr. Behrendt came to the United States in 1934. Shortly after his arrival he was invited to lecture on City Planning at Dartmouth College, and later joined the faculty at Buffalo (N. Y.) University as Professor of City Planning. He also served as Technical Advisor to the Buffalo City Planning Association.
In 1941 he became a naturalized citizen, and during the rest of his life taught at Dartmouth with the full rank of Professor.
