MACKENZIE, William Andrew was born on August 14, 1870 in Invergordon, Ross-shire. E. and the only surviving son of late Andrew Mackenzie.

Education

Studied at Alness Public School. Tain Royal Academy; Grammar School, Aberdeen. Studied medicine at the Marischal College, Aberdeen, 1887-1890.

Edited Bon-Accord, Aberdeen, 1891-1893.

Career

Joined the staff of Mr. James Henderson, Red Lion House, contributing much anonymous work to the Sketch, Pall Mall Gazette, et cetera, 1893. Editor Black and White, 1897- 1900.

• Chess (over the board and blindfold), verse-writing.
