Thomas G. Dill commenced the practice of law as a sole practitioner in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, in 1949, having previously practiced for approximately two years in Greenville, North Carolina In 1957, the law firm of Dill & Fountain was established by Thomas G. Dill and Richard T. Fountain, Junior William South. Hoyle joined the firm in 1968 and the firm of Dill, Fountain & Hoyle was established in 1971. Randall B. Pridgen joined the firm in 1985 and became a partner in 1988, when the firm name was changed to Dill, Fountain, Hoyle & Pridgen.
The firm has continued its practice under this name since that time as primarily a general practice firm with the members concentrating in certain areas.
