Background
Yannis was born on April 5, 1936, in Drosopigi village, Epirus, Greece. The son of a political emigrant. In Voronezh since 1957. Since 1990 he lives in Athens.

Career
He worked as a bricklayer in Tashkent (1955-1957). In Voronezh since 1957.Laboratory assistant at the Romance and Germanic Philology Department (1962-1968), lecturer, assistant professor of the history of the ancient world and archeology of History Department of Voronezh State University (1970-1990). Researcher of the Center for the Study of the History of the Resistance of the Greek People.

Author of many special works and several collections of poems (in translations into Russian by E.G. Novichikhin and others), including "Ellada - my love" (Voronezh, 1992), "Song, return to my heart" (Voronezh, 2001). ), "I come from Olympus ..." (Athens, 2001), "Whisper of the soul" (Athens, 2002), "Wind Music" (Voronezh, 2005). The book of essays on ancient culture "Helios - the radiant God" was published in Athens (2003) in Russian.
