Education
He graduated from Keio University in 1890.
Career
After graduating from Keio University he became an employee of Bank of Japan.
Later he founded a coal business with Momosuke Fukuzawa in Kobe and then the Kyushu Electric Light Company.
He was vice-president of Toho Electric Company and then its president in 1928.
Then he was chairman of Inquiry Commission of Reorganization of Electric Undertaking.
Was a master of the tea ceremony.
