Yorihisa Shoni

Background

The date of birth of Yorihisa Shoni is unknown. He was the son of Sadatsune.

Career

Yorihisa Shoni followed his father in his attack on Hidetoki Hojo in 1338. He joined the forces of Takauji Ashikaga who had fled from Kyoto to Kyushu and defeated Taketoshi Kikuchi on Tatara Beach. Yorihisa Shoni then followed Takauji in his expedition eastward toward Kyoto and fought with distinction. Afterward his forces fought Takemitsu Kikuchi on the Chikugo River and were defeated. He was killed in battle.
