Was a resident of Hitachi (Ibaraki Prefecture). After Yoritomo Minamoto subdued Yoshihide Satake (1180) he attempted to destroy the former but in vain. After this he followed Yoshinaka Kiso into Kyoto but was repulsed by the army led by Noriyori, Yoshitsune Minamoto and then taken prisoner and put to death at ise Province (Mie Prefecture).
