Yoshiichi Matsui

Background

Yoshiichi was born in 1891, in Yamaguchi Prefecture, Japan.

Education

He graduated from the Suisan Koshujo (Fisneries Institute) in 1914.

Career

Served as manager of Hyogo Prefectural Aquatic Products Laboratory and instructor of Science Department of Kyoto University. Appointed director of the Japan Pearl Research Institute.

Rendered a number of researches on carp, particularly heredity of carp, and also published many articles on eel and other fresh water fish.
