He graduated from the Suisan Koshujo (Fisheries Institute) in 1913 and later passed the examination for Bachelor of Science of the Chemical Section of Tohoku University.
Served as professor of the Pusan (Korea) Aquatic Industry College.
Went to Germany to study at Kaiser Wilhelm Laboratory on colloid chemistry.
On returning became professor of the Suisan Koshujo and then director of same institute.
Received a doctorate. After the end of the war, appointed to the present post.
