Yoshio Kojima studied at the Kyoto University, which he graduated from in 1926.
After graduating from Kyoto University Yoshio Kojima was appointed lecturer at Kyushu University, to eventually become professor (1946) and later joined Osaka University. Is noted for his studies on medieval literature and is regarded as a scholar specializing in Shin Kokm-waka-shu (anthology of old and contemporary verses). He was conferred a doctorate (1944). Among his works is "A Study of Shin Kokin-wakashu".
