Yoshioki Nitta was born in Japan. He was the second son of Yoshisada. His early name was Tokuju-maru. He was not loved by his father and Jived in Kozuke (Gumma Prefecture).

In 1337, Yoshioki Nitta joined Akiie Kitabatake in his attack on the Ashikagas in Kamakura and captured thecity. He then marched westward and defeated Noriaki Uesugi at Aonogahara (Gifu Prefecture) (1338). In 1358, he marched into Musashi Province (Edo district), became powerful and attempted to attack Motouji Ashikaga in Kamakura. In October that year, he was ambushed at the Yaguchi crossing of the Rokugo River near Edo and killed himself on a barge.
