Career

With N. & W.R.R., Roanoke, Virginia, 1884-1887. Stenographer and secretary to president Sloss Iron & Steel Company, Birmingham, Alabama, 1887-1890. With various railroads until 1894.

With United States Government, 1894-1909, various capacities, becoming Indian inspector. Admitted to bar, District of Columbia, and practiced in Washington, 1909-1917. Legal work for United States Government since 1917, chief counsel United States Employees Compensation Commission administering Federal Workmen’s Compensation laws since 1928.

Served as corporal Company K, District of Columbia Infantry Volumes, May. to September 1898, Spanish-American War.
