1904 emigrated to France. After 1917 February Revol returned to Russia. Ran printing press for Central Committee, Russian Social-Democratic Workers ’Party (Bolsheviks) in Petrograd, then worked for Extraordinary Commission Against Counterrevolution, Sabotage and Speculation and Joint State Political Administration.
1919-1924 chief of Lenin’s bodyguard. From 1924 worked for People's Commissariat of Internal Affairs. Arrested by State Security organs.
