Akitoki 北條顯時

Background

Akitoki was born in Japan. He was the grandson of Sanetoki.

Career

Was appointed a member of the Shogunate Council (1274). Was exiled to Hanyu in Kazusa Province (Chiba Prefecture) for involvement in a trouble of Yasumori Adachi, his father-in-law. The famous Kanazawa Library, which was founded by his grandfather, was replenished and enlarged by him. It still contains many books collected and collated by Akitoki.
