Alexander began to perform in 1913. Participant of the 1st World War (1915-1916, acted in the mask Brother Pierrot in the ambulance train). He toured around many cities of Russia. In Voronezh, he performed in the summer of 1918, performed satirical songs, humoresks, parodies, romances, songs (many of his own compositions). Since 1919 he was in exile. In 1943 he returned to his homeland, continued touring activities.
He was married, had two daughters.
