Ananta Kumar Sen Gupta was born on August 23, 1906 in Barisal, Bangladesh. He was the son of Aswini Kamar and Bindubashini.

In 1930 he got a degree of Master of Science (Gold Medalist, Calcutta University). In 1946 he became Doctor of Science (Calcutta University). He has done a research in molecular Spectroscopy and Electrical Mechanics.

Ananta Kumar Sen Gupta was an Indian electrical engineer and specialist in Spectroscopy. He was a professor of Applied Physics at Calcutta University.

Membership

He was the fellow of Indian Physical Society. He was also an Associate Member of the Institution of Electrical Engineer in London and of the Institution of Engineers in India.
