Artur Pavlovich Tolstyakov was born on March 31, 1938 in Moscow City, Russian Federation.
Artur Pavlovich graduated from the faculty of journalism of Moscow State University (1960).
Artur Pavlovich was a deputy editor-in-chief of the book "Research and materials" (Moscow, 1969-1993). Since 1993, he has been the head of the source studies and bibliography sector of Russian literature of the XVIII-XIX centuries, and since 2005, was a leading researcher at The Gorky Institute of World Literature.
Member of several Russian bibliophile organizations (since 1960). Artur Pavlovich was an organizer, compiler and executive editor of the Moscow almanacs "Bibliophile" (2000-2004) and "Bibliophiles of Russia" (since 2004). Author of many scientific works, including books: "Russian publishers of the late XIX - early XX century" (Saint Petersburg, 1976), " People of thought and kindness. Russian publishers K.T. Soldatenkov and N.P. Polyakov" (Moscow, 1984), "He lived between us..." About Pushkin and his entourage (Saint Petersburg, 2000).
Artur Pavlovich visited Voronezh several times, where he participated in the founding Congress of the all-Russian Association of bibliophiles / Society of Russian bibliophiles (January 1990).
