Alexander Nikolyukin was born on May 26, 1928, in Voronezh, Russian Federation.
In 1946, Alexander Nilolyukin graduated from a secondary school in Voronezh with honors and entered the Leningrad University (today the Saint Petersburg State University). In a year, Alexander transferred to the Roman-Germanic division of the Philology Department of Moscow State University and graduated from there with honors in 1953.
In 1956 - 1974, Alexander Nikolaevich was a senior research scientist at M. Gorky Institute of World Literature of Academy of Sciences of USSR. Since 1976, he was Chief Researcher at the Institute of Scientific Information for Social Sciences of the Russian Academy of Sciences. In 1993, he became the chief editor of the Russian Literary Magazine. In 1994, Alexander became the editor of the collected edition of V.V. Rozanov (16 volumes have been published).
