Quotes from others about the person
Samoilovich A.: "At the age of 16 he amazed others with his erudition in the field of philosophy and literature ... he knew well foreign languages - German and French, understood Italian and learned Latin and Greek so well that he spoke and wrote Latin quite freely. He had a striking memory, was of an unusually cheerful disposition and had good sense of humour."
B. Sadovskaya: "Boris Vladimirovich Nikolsky was at the age of forty at that time. He was a man of imposing appearance, chunk, bald, with a Mongolian face and a long graying mustache, he kept himself straight. Discreet on the first sight, he had hot temper. Nikolsky laughed loudly, spoke a lot. His cold eyes always remained motionless, like an unwound clock. He was an amazing interlocutor who had the ability to perfectly imitate the voice and manners of anyone. Depicting the faces of already dead people, he seemed to resurrect them."
In 1895 he married the daughter of S.N. Shubinsky Catherine. They had 5 children.
