Membership

Served from ensign to captain United States Navy, 1920-1947. Assistant director, then director Research and Development division bureau of Ordnance, United States Navy, 1942-1945. Special assistant to Vannevar Bush, chairman Office of Science Research and Development, in charge project which developed proximity fuse.
