Wu, Chang Jer was born on March 29, 1968 in Yilan, Taiwan. Son of Hsin Sung Wu and Hsiu Haw Lee.

Career

Postdoctoral research fellow Academia Sinica, Taipei, Taiwan, 1998—2001. Assistant researcher National Defense Medical Center, 2001—2004. Assistant professor National Taiwan Ocean University, Keelung, Taiwan, since 2004.

Achievements

  • Achievements include research in niclosamide represent a promising lead for developing more efficacious anti-Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome-CoV drugs. Development of an effective Japanese encephalitis virus-specific DNA vaccine. Research in inhibition of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome-CoV replication by siRNA.

    Research in in vivo electroporation of skeletal muscle increases the efficacy of Japanese encephalitis virus DNA vaccine. Research in induction of cross-protection against two wild-type Taiwanese isolates of Japanese encephalitis virus using Beijing-1 strain DNA vaccine.
