Clifford Robert O'Donnell was born on August 28, 1939 in Newark, New Jersey, United States.

Education

Clifford R. O'Donnell received a Bachelor of Arts from Fairleigh Dickinson University, a Master of Science from Oklahoma State University and a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Kentucky.

Career

Clifford R. O'Donnell began his career at Fairfield Hills Hospital as an intern in clinical psychology. He worked at the University of Hawaii— Manoa as an assistant professor, associate professor, professor of psychology, assistant researcher at Center for Youth Research, associate researcher, researcher, director of the center, director of Community and Culture Graduate Program, and was a member of university coordination council of Hawaii Center for Disability Studies.

In 1996 Clifford was appointed as a member of scientific board at Melissa Institute for Violence Prevention and Treatment. From 1989 to 1991 he was a member of Juvenile Justice Interagency Board at the State of Hawaii. O'Donnell also worked as a member of the executive committee of Asia-Pacific Council for Youth Research, member of Hawaii Firearms Control Coalition, member of Evaluation Resource Team of Hawaii Community Services Council, member of Hawaii Children’s Trust Fund Coalition, and consultant to U.S. Peace Corps and Zuni Native American Tribe.

Nowadays Clifford R. O'Donnell is Professor Emeritus of Psychology and works on the Board of Directors of the Intermountain Centers for Human Development and the Scientific Board of The Melissa Institute for the Prevention and Treatment of Violence.

Achievements

• Clifford Robert O'Donnell has been listed as a noteworthy psychology educator by Marquis Who's Who. He was also awarded Fellow status in the Society for Community Research and Action in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the field of community research and action. He also received an Outstanding Professor Award from the University of Hawaii Psi Chi as well as awards from the Melissa Institute for the Prevention and Treatment of Violence and from the Council of Program Directors in Community Research and Action.
