Daigoro Yakusawa first entered Hitachi Manufacturing Company as a mere worker. Went to America and studied advanced technique at Westinghouse Electric Company.
He established the Yasukawa Electric Machinery Company (1915) and developed the foundation of the present company. During the war, appointed chairman of the Electric Machinery Control Board.
After the war, appointed director of the Coal Board, but resigned due to the purge. Also moved up to chairmanship of Yasukawa Electric Machinery Company, handing over the presidency to his nephew, Hiroshi. A leading man of the Yasukawa zaibatsu in Kyushu.
