Born on 1st January 1953 passed out Higher secondary examination from Sibsagar in Assam India graduated in Veterinary science in 1974 from AAU in ist division awarded mater degree in Vety Science from IVRI in 1976 worked for a brief period in Pantnagar and joined as ARS scientist in ICAR in September 1977 as Scientist and promoted to senior scientist ,principal scientist in 1983 and 1998 respectively Joined as joint Director for ICAR complex Nagaland centre in 2002 and also acted as Director of ICAR:NRC on Mithun till 2004 Dec and Joined as full time Director of ICAR:NRC on Mithun where he served as Director for two terms for 10 years and retired as Director in December 2014.Married to Chayanika Rajkhowa in 1985 and has a son who was born in 1986 April

He went to Phukan Nagar Primary school and passed out in 1959 and joined in Sibsagar Govt. School for Higher secondary and passed out in 1969 joined in B.V.Sc.and A,H, course in 1969 and passed out in 1974 in 1st Division and joined for Masters at IVRI in 1974 and passed out in 1976 and for ashort period He joined Pantnagar Agril University as Research fellow up to 1977 September and fginally joined as ARS scientist in ICAR and rose to the position of Director of ICAR:NRC on Mithun in Nagaland where from He rtetired in 2014 December
