In 1948 Efim Aleksandrovich graduated from the historical department of Borisoglebsk Teacher Institute. In 1953 he finished his studying at Moscow Military Pedagogical Institute.
In 1941-1961 he served in the Soviet Army. During 1964-1968 he was a director of Borisoglebsk Regional Museum. Since 1968 he worked as an employee of Borisoglebsk Higher Military School of Pilots named after V.P. Chkalov.
