He graduated from Voronezh training plant (1960), Sanitary-Technical Faculty of Voronezh Civil Engineering Institute (1971).
Egor Ivanovich Ivanov worked as a locksmith-fitter (1960-1962), as an engineer at "Voronezhgrazhdanproekt" Institute (since 1971), in various engineering and technical positions in the housing and utilities sector.
At the same time he finished the courses of guides, drove tourists to the literary places of Russia, more often to the homeland of Sergei Yesenin, whose work he became interested in from his early years. At the beginning of restructure, he gave lectures about Yesenin in schools of Voronezh.
Creator and a head of the public Sergei Yesenin's museum (October 1995). A literary-local history center and an art gallery were created at the museum in 2008, where works by Voronezh artist M.F. Dolgovoi are presented. By the initiative of Ivanov, a monument in Voronezh was opened to Sergei Alexandrovich Yesenin by the work of Moscow sculptor A.A. Bichukova (2006). Ivanov conducts a great cultural and educational work, mainly among students.
