Etsuji Tanida

Background

Etsuji Tanida was born in 1911 in Tokyo, Japan.

Education

He graduated from Tokyo University in 1933.

Career

After graduating from Tokyo University in 1933 he proceeded to China where he studied industrial art and catalogued ancient relics for the Peking Museum (1941), while also working for the Nanking Museum.

After the war through his associations with the Yamato Bunkakan Instititutehe he was appointed professor at Kyoto Art College as well as instructor for both Tokyo and Doshisha universities.
