In 1992 - graduated from secondary school No. 14 in the Shchelkov-3 city, Moscow region. In 1996 he graduated from the Yeisk Higher Military Aviation School of Pilots (HMASP). In 1998 - graduated from the Air Force Academy named after Yu.A. Gagarin.
From October 1998 to December 1999 - worked as a research assistant at Y. A. Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center. From December 1999 to June 2003 - served as an on-board test engineer, senior on-board test engineer of the Cosmonaut Training Center named after. Yu.A. Gagarin. 1 March 2002 - received a positive conclusion (admission to special training) at the Main Medical Commission - MMC. 29 May 2003 - at a meeting of the Interdepartmental Selection Cosmonauts Committee he was enlisted in the Cosmonaut Corps for General Space Training (GST). Ffrom 16 June 2003 to 27 June 2005 - was trained under the general space training program, passing the state examinations in the CPC with an assessment of "excellent". 5 July 2005 - at the meeting of the Interdepartmental Qualification Commission (ICRC), he was given the qualification "test cosmonaut".
The 3rd class on-board test engineer, officer-diver (spent about 250 hours under water), instructor of parachute training, total flight time was 207 hours (57 hours on L-29, L-39 and 150 hours by plane-laboratory IL-76). He performed more than 800 jumps with a parachute.
From August 2009 to March 2010 - trained in the specialization group under the ISS program. From March 2010 to May 2012 - was prepared in the ISS-31/32 backup crew as a flight engineer of the Soyuz TMA-M and the ISS flight engineer. From May 2012 to October 2012 - was trained in the ISS-33/34 primary crew as a flight engineer of the Soyuz TMA-M and ISS. 23 October 2012 – 16 March 2013 - as a flight engineer of the Soyuz TMA-06M and ISS-33/34 together with Novitsky O.V. and NASA astronaut Kevin Ford.
