Evgeny Adolfovich Ganeizer was a Russian writer, playwright, and translator. A number of essays and stories by Ganeizer are published in Vestnik Evropy, Severny Vestnik, Knizhki Nedeli, and Russkoe bogatstvo.
Background
Evgeny Adolfovich Ganeizer was born on January 5, 1862, in Bender, Republic of Moldova. His ancestors came from Sweden and settled in Poland. His grandfather - a colonel of the Polish army - was shot as a participant in the uprising of 1831. His father was a Guards officer.
Education
In 1877 Evgeny Adolfovich graduated from the Uman College of Agriculture and Horticulture with a degree of agronomist and then studied at the Lviv University in the same specialty. In 1901-1902 he attended lectures at the Higher School of Social Sciences in Sorbon.
Evgeny Adolfovich began working in 1877-1878 at the sugar factory and then at the construction of the railway in Yekaterinoslav. Since 1882 he has published in the newspapers Yuzhny krai, Zarya, Dnepr, later - Saratovsky dnevnik and Saratovsky listok. In the late 90s began publishing in Russkoye bogatstvo. Since 1900 Evgeny Adolfovich cooperated with Russkiye Vedomosti.
During the years of the first world war, he worked as an agronomist, a war correspondent. Since 1904 - a member of the editorial office of Syn Otechestva, since 1906 - Strany. In 1918-1923 Evgeny Adolfovich was a teacher at school in Mishor, worked as an insurance agent, and as an accountant.
Politics
Evgeny Adolfovich supported and participated in the activities of revolutionary associations and was twice attracted to the inquiry (1879, 1883). In June 1892 at a dacha near Saratov took place a conspiratorial meeting of the participants of Narodnoe pravo, which Evgeny Adolfovich attended with his friends Korolenko and Mikhailovsky.
