From 1962 Evgeny Mikhailovich was a postgraduate student, instructor, associate professor, professor from 1962 to 1964, head of the Department of Geometry and Theory of Functions, dean of the Faculty of Mathematics of Voronezh State University from 1978 to 1983.
Evgeny Mikhailovich is the author of more than 200 works on the theory of interpolation of linear map, the geometry of Banach spaces and the theory of orthogonal series. He wrote such books as "Interpolation of Linear maps" (published in Moscow in 1978 together with S.G. Krein and Y.I. Petunin), "The geometry of functional spaces" (published in Novosibirsk in 1979), "Naag Series and Linear Operators" (Dordrecht: Kluwer, 1997).
