Fedor Fedorovich Smehnov was a lecturer at the House of Culture of Moscow State University (1953-1960), Moscow State Institute of Culture (since 1960), associate professor (since 1982). Chairman of the musical club of folk instruments at the All-Union House of Composers.
Author of operas, symphonic poems, overtures, concerts, suites, songs, music for television performances, including "Singers" by Ivan Sergeyevich Turgenev (1957), "First jamboree" (1958) and others.
