Vladimir Ionchenkov was born on July 2, 1948.
In 1961 Vladimir first acquainted with the domra (Russian folk instrument) – first in a camp near Moscow, and then in a children's orchestra in one of the Moscow housing bureau. He joined a famous children's ensemble «Songs and dance» of the Moscow urban Palace of pioneers and schoolchildren. He was playing five years in the orchestra on domra.
In 1966 Vladimir Ionchenkov entered the Moscow State Institute of culture at the conductor - orchestra department on the advice of an artistic director V.S. Loktev and a teacher V.S. Chunin. At the same time he began working as a teacher on a class of domra in the Ensemble of the Palace of pioneers and schoolchildren. After graduation in 1970, Vladimir stayed at the Institute as a teacher of domra. After 3 months he was drafted into the army and became a soloist of the orchestra of the famous song and dance Ensemble of the air defense of Moscow region under the direction of the National Artist of the RSFSR F.A. Tupitsyn. He demobilized in December 1971. Vladimir Ionchenkov returned to the song and dance Ensemble named after V. S. Loktev and at the same time began to play Russian folk instruments orchestra all-Union radio and television under the direction of V. I. Fedoseev. In 1972 he admitted to the State academic Russian folk orchestra named N. P. Osipova on the basis of a competitive examination as a domra artist and had been working there for 20 years.
At this time, Vladimir began to show variable talents – managerial, musicological and journalistic . For many years Vladimir was a freelance correspondent of central stations: "The yunost", "The mayak", Moscow radio. He wrote several television scripts. His works were published in the magazine "The musical life", "The culture and life", "The worker", "The peer", the newspaper "The soviet culture", "The Moskovsky Komsomolets", "The evening Moscow", "The soviet Russia" and others. His works was included in collections of publishing house "The young guard".
Vladimir Ionchenkov was the soloist of the Moscow youth orchestra of Russian folk instruments under the leadership of N.N. Kalinin from May 1974 to May 1975. During 1976, he was the chief administrator of the State academic Russian folk orchestra named N.P. Osipov. In 1978 he created a quartet of soloists from the orchestra of a N.P. Osipov together with the leading soloists of this orchestra Alexander Gorbachev Alexander Kornetov and Igor Konovalov. Vladimir Ionchenkov became a leader, an organizer of the tour and concerts. In 1992 he registered in Russian patent office a new name of the group – "The quartet "Moscow balalaika" ("Moscow Balalaika Quartet») .
The concert of the Quartet "Moscow balalaika" opened the Year of Russian culture in Germany in February 2003. In quartet V. Yanchenkov recorded 13 gramophone records, produced a release in the USA.
Vladimir Ionchenkov is a member of the Board of the Center for spiritual and ethical enterprises "Future", a member of the Board of Fund of support of creative personality (FPTL), a member of the Public Council of a cultural center of the MIA of Russia, a member of the Committee of the memory of Marshal of the Soviet Union G. K. Zhukov and also the honor member of the Moscow rotary club.
Vladimir Ionchenkov has the second level of swimming, skiing and shooting.
