Serafim Vladimirovich graduated from the instructor and choral department of the Voronezh Musical Technical School in 1926, literary and linguistic department of the Faculty of Education, Voronezh State University in 1929, conductor and choral department of the Moscow Conservatory in 1942.
From 1924 to 1929 Serafim Vladimirovich was an organizer and leader of the amateur choir of the Voronezh Typograph Club , artistic director and conductor of the vocal ensemble (1929-1936), choir (from 1937) of the Voronezh Regional Radio Committee and Philharmonic, who has repeatedly performed in concerts with the Voronezh Symphony Orchestra. Artistic director of the amateur choir of Moscow State University (1937-1980). In the years 1942-1959 he worked as a Lecturer of the choral group of the Moscow Conservatory. Also from 1959 to 1976 he was the organizer and head of the choral conducting department, assistant professor (from 1961), Professor (from 1981) of the Moscow State Institute of Culture.
Serafim Vladimirovich is the author of arrangements of folk songs, printed works (about 60) about choral art. The creator of manuals on choral conducting. One of the authors of the collections: "Nine Russian Folk Songs" (Moscow, 1947), "Russian Folk Song in Choral Processing" (Moscow, 1963) and others.
