Education

Student of University of Alabama, 1880-1882. Graduated from the United States Military Academy, 1886. United States Infantry and Cavalry School, 1887-1889.

Career

Commissioned Second lieutenant, July 1, 1886. Promoted through grades to brig. general, chief bureau of Insular Affairs, August 24, 1912. Major general (temporary), October 6, 1917.

Membership

Served on Rio Grande River and various stations in Texas. Member general staff, 1903-1905. Clubs: Army and Navy (Washington and New York).
