Fujiwara no Michitoshi was born in 1047. He was the son of Tsunehira.
He was responsible for the compilation of the anthology called Gojui-wakashu. He was Gon Chunagon (Vice-Minister). Well read in Japanese and Chinese classics and an a Die administrator, he was much favored by Emperor Shirakawa. In learning, he was a rival of Masafusa Oe. His diary is called Michitoshi-kyo-Ki.
