After graduating from high school in Moscow in 1959, Gennadiy Moiseevich entered the industrial school in the town of Lobnya, Moscow region, to the evening department, combining education with a job as a locksmith at the plant RCP-5 Glavmospromstroymaterialov, and then as a design engineer at the State Design Institute Santekhproekt.
Gennadiy Moiseevich successfully graduated from the technical school with a specialty in mechanical engineering in 1962. He entered the V.V. Kuybyshev Moscow Engineering and Construction Institute and joined the Faculty of Industrial and Civil Engineering, which he graduated in 1968 with a specialization "construction engineer".
Gennadiy Moiseevich has been working in the Construction Department №1 of Remstroytrest’s Baumansky district of Glavmosstroy, where he went from being the master, the forceman to the general foreman, and then the site manager.
Gennadiy Moiseevich was transferred as the head of the Construction Department № 41 of the trust "Mosgorgidrostroy" of Glavmosinzhstroi in March 1970, and then he was approved as the trust manager in December 1975. He worked as a chief engineer of the trust "Mosfundamentstroy-2" of Glavmosstroy from 1976 to 1978, and as its manager from 1976 to 1987. Organizational skills and talent of Gennadiy Moiseevich became particularly evident during the construction of the objects of the Olympics-80 in Moscow. Under his leadership and with the direct involvement of the staff of the trust "Mosfundamentstroy-2" he made a worthy contribution to the successful implementation of the construction of the Olympic Village.
In 1987, Gennadiy Moiseevich was transferred to work at Glavmosstroy, where he consistently held the posts of deputy chief (1987-1991), first deputy chief (1991-1992), first vice-president (1992-1994). In 1994, he became the first vice president of the reorganized joint-stock company Glavmosstroy. In 1998, he was elected Glavmosstroy president.
In 1998, Gennadiy Moiseevich in his post of Glavmosstroy President directly supervised the construction of a unique residential complex on Zoologicheskaya Street.
As the first vice-president of Glavmosstroy, Gennadiy Moiseevich took direct part in organizing the construction of large public buildings, centres for science, culture, healthcare and other facilities. Among them: the Palace of Justice, the Darwin Museum, the reconstruction of the State Tretyakov Gallery, the Actor Gallery and the All-Russian Academy of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture, the rebuilding of the Ascension Church bell tower and the complex of music and art schools in Vykhino, and also he led housing construction in the areas of mass housing of the capital - Mitino, Butovo, Zhulebino, Mariinsky Park, etc.
In 1997, Gennadiy Moiseevich was elected a full member of the Academy of Investments and Construction Economics, and in 1998 - an active member of the Russian Engineering Academy.
Gennadiy Ulanovsky reads a lot, regularly visits exhibitions. He is passionate about painting. He likes cars, motorcycles, especially when he drives.
