After graduating from the Moscow Power Engineering Institute, specializing in Thermophysics (1957), Vjacheslav Vladimirovich continued to work there as an engineer (1957-1960). Then he moved to the Joint Institute for High Temperatures (JIHT), RAS, where from 1960 to 1974 Vjacheslav worked as a research officer and from 1963 was deputy director for science. Later he became the director of the All-Union Research Institute of Metrological Service (1974-1977) and then the Director of the All-Union Scientific and Technical Information Center (1977-1979). In the period of 1979-1983 Vjacheslav Vladimirovich worked as vice-chairman of the USSR State Committee for Science and Technology; 1983-1991 – secretary of the Council for Mutual Economic Assistance. From 1974 to the present time, he heads the chair at the Moscow Power Engineering Institute.
Vjacheslav Vladimirovich is an active member of the Academy of Creativity (Moscow), Academy of Technological Sciences of Russian Federation, Academy of Electrotechnical Sciences of the Russian Federation.
