Hamilton (Hang Tao) Lee was born on October 10, 1921 in Zhouxian, Shandong, China. He was the son of Beiyuen and Huaiying Lee. He passed away on March 4, 2018 in Mountain View, California, USA.
Over a period of 36 years, Dr. Lee taught high school, undergraduate, and graduate level courses spanning a number of topics. His curricular focus, however, was in the area of instructional technology. His research interests included: Future Higher Education of America; Chinese Educational Development from 1949-1976; Pre-Revolution Education of America; Communication and the Perceptive Process. In addition to teaching, Dr. Lee worked in the areas of instructional development, helping other educators utilize technology in their teaching. In December of 1983, he finished his final semester of teaching and retired in January of 1984. Dr. Lee remained active in scholarship well into his retirement.
Additionally, Dr. Lee was a visiting fellow at Harvard University in 1965 and 1966, Princeton University in 1976, and was an honorary member of the advisory council of the International Biographical Center, based in Cambridge, England, in 1995.
