(Serious examination of the formation and structure of the...)
Serious examination of the formation and structure of the Russian railroad industry and how the growth of class consciousness among its workers during the Revolution affected Russian industrialization. The author focuses on how the breakdown of unity between the white and blue collar workers led to polarization and further radicalization, especially after the October and December strikes. He also argues that railroad workers carried radical ideas from the provinces to Moscow and St. Petersburg as well as the other way. 336 pages.
