In 1773 Innokentiy took monastic vows. He was a lecturer, prefect of Ryazan (1773-1778), St. Petersburg Alexander Nevsky (1778-1782) Theological Seminaries. Prefect of Moscow Slavic-Greek-Latin Academy and Abbot of the Znamensky Monastery (1782-1783). Innokentiy was a rector of the Alexander Nevsky Theological Seminary (1784-1788).
In 1784-1788 he was engaged in editing the "Dictionary of Russian Academy". "Selected teachings" of Innokentiy were published by E.A. Bolkhovitinov (Voronezh, 1799).
